Abstract
The research has been conducted to analyze in vivo chlorophyll content of different kinds of cincau leaves which are grown in Bandungan and the surrounding Salatiga and to know the influence of shade percentage to the in vivo chlorophyll content of the leaves, the morphology of the leaves and the height of the plants. Minolta Chlorophyll Meter SPAD-502 was used to determine the chlorophyll content. Other parameters such as the morphology of the leaves (the thickness, stiffness, roughness of the leaves), leaf area and leaf water content, plant height and shade percentage were measured. Leaves thickness, stiffness, roughness and shade percentage was determined approximately. Gravimetry method was used to measure the leave area, while measuring tape was used to measure the height of the cincau plants. The result showed that the average of in vivo chlorophyll content of young-old clump cincau leaf, green cincau, oil cincau, and black cincau were 10.3, 7.0, 5.7, and 4.6 SPAD/mm2 area unit, respectively. The average of in vivo chlorophyll content of the leaves, leaves morphology and height of the cincau plants were influenced by the shade percentage
