Abstract
This research aims to explore how online media frame news coverage of the sentencing trial in the corruption case involving Harvey Moeis at PT Timah, during the period of December 2024 to February 2025. The case gained national attention due to the large state financial loss and exposure of systemic corruption in natural resource management. This study adopts a qualitative approach using the framing analysis model of Pan & Kosicki, which includes four structural elements of news text: syntactic structure, script structure, thematic structure, and rhetorical structure. The research analyzes articles from two major national media outlets: Kompas.com and MediaIndonesia.com. The results show that the two media present different framing patterns. Kompas.com focuses more on the legal proceedings and court developments, while MediaIndonesia.com highlights public reactions and the broader social implications of the sentencing. These framing differences reflect how each media outlet constructs social reality according to its editorial stance. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the media's role in shaping public perception of corruption cases and encourages more transparent and fair journalism.
