Abstract

This study focuses on the analysis of the form of conflict depicted in the film entitled Toba Dreams. This film is one of the films with the theme of family, the film is one of the films with theme of family that shows a conflict between father and son. In reality, it is found that there are a lot of conflicts between parents and children, especially father and child, both physically and verbally. This can change how the child behaves towards his father in the future and can be bad in the future. A conflict occurs in the family due to various things and various forms, where in this film shows the existence of various forms of conflict that arise based on existing realities. In the results of this study using qualitative content analysis methods, by making observations, the results of this study indicate that Toba Dreams clearly illustrates how the conflict between father and son occurs based on the reality where there are several forms of conflict that stand out such as conflicts of values, policies, and egos. This conflict shows the conflict that occurs most in the family, especially in fathers and children. Then this research will use the concept of conflict which has several indicators, which will then be supported by a systems theory where this theory is very relevant to the family, by describing the communication that occurs in the family both in groups and interpersonal.
