Abstract

Liquidity is one of the economic terms that are often used to indicate the financial position or wealth of an enterprise organization. The level of liquidity of an enterprise organization is usually used as a benchmark for decision-making people associated with the company. Profitability is the ability of a company to make a profit in a given period. The profits are used to assess the performance of the company. Companies should be able to control working capital well in order to get high profitability. Working capital management have an impact on the ability of the company makes a profit (profitability). Companies that have the high level of profitability will also have high efficiency level of working capital. Every activity of the company is always in need of funds (working capital) to carry out activities of daily company operations. Working capital should be processed efficiently in order to make profit to the fullest. In addition to the management of the working capital fund is effective in obtaining profit (profitability), companies also have to balance with liquidity. The population in this study is the Cosmetics and Household sector companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange by 5 companies. Financial Statement Data used is the financial statements of the company for six years, from 2010-2015. The results of this study show that: 1) Liquidity does not affect the working capital; 2) Profitability affect the working capital and 3) Liquidity and Profitability affect the working capital.
