Abstract

This research is based on the challenges faced by adolescents who commit legal offenses and must enter LPKA (become young offenders). This has a negative impact on their psychological well-being (PWB). This study aims to determine whether perceived social support (PSS) has a positive influence on the PWB of young offenders. The subjects of this study were 139 young offenders from LPKA Jakarta and Tangerang. The measuring instruments used in this study are Ryff's Psychological Well-Being (RPWB) to measure PWB and Multidimentional Scale of Perceived Social (MSPSS) to measure PSS. This study conducted assumption tests to see the effect of PSS on PWB (normality, linearity, homoscedasticity, and error independence). The results showed that the assumption test was not met, therefore hypothesis testing was carried out with logistic regression. This study found a positive influence of PSS on PWB in foster children in LPKA Jakarta and Tangerang. It was found that PSS influenced the PWB of foster children in LPKA Jakarta and Tangerang.
