Abstract

This professional work report outlines the crucial role of Government Relations (GR) activities in the functioning of the Secretariat of the Final Assessor Team (TPA) within the Secretariat of the Cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia. The primary focus of government relations activities in this context is to provide technical and administrative support for the appointment, transfer, and termination of Senior Leadership Positions (JPT) within the government hierarchy. The intern is entrusted with executing several government relations activities that span the stages of research-listening, planning-decision, communication-action, and evaluation to achieve the goals of the Secretariat of the Final Assessor Team. This report serves as an account and explanation of how government relations activities can facilitate the decision-making process, which significantly impacts the governance structure of the Cabinet of the Republic of Indonesia. Government Relations acts as a bridge between the Final Assessor Team and various government stakeholders, fostering constructive dialogue to ensure that policies align with the country's needs and regulations. The intern is responsible for comprehending proposal substance and acquiring additional competencies such as understanding constitutional law, government regulations, presidential decrees, letter drafting, memorandum creation, the crafting of Presidential Decision proposals, and more. By focusing on the intern's experiences in managing government relations activities for the appointment, transfer, and termination processes within Senior Leadership Positions, this report provides valuable insights into the pivotal role of government relations in supporting the integrity and efficiency of governance. Over the course of three months of professional work, the intern gained a deeper understanding of the significance of government relations within a government institution and learned various steps that can be taken to achieve objectives.
