Abstract

Toxic Relationship merupakan fenomena yang diangkat menjadi film sesuai dengan realitas sosial yang terjadi di masyarakat. Fenomena ini yang nantinya akan ditayangkan di kalangan masyarakat melalui media massa yaitu film. Penelitian ini memilih lima film bertema toxic relationship yang terfokus ke karakter perempuan yang mendapatkan kekerasan fisik, mental dan seksual di toxic relationship. Karakter perempuan tersebut yaitu Lala (Posesif, 2017), Dinda (Story of Kale: When Someone’s in Love, 2020), Dina (Paranoia, 2021), Ayu (Selesai, 2021) dan Aurora (Jalan yang Jauh Jangan Lupa Pulang, 2023). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggambaran karakter perempuan sebelum berada di hubungan toksik dan ketika berada dalam hubungan toksik. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis isi kualitatif dan paradigma post-positivisme. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan penggambaran karakter perempuan yang mendapatkan kekerasan fisik yaitu “diam”. Ketika mendapatkan kekerasan mental “melawan”. Dan ketika mendapatakan kekerasan seksual “melawan dan diam”. Peneliti menggunakan 6 konsep dalam menjawab rumusan masalah yaitu media massa, film, fungsi film sebagai konstruksi realitas, konstruksi realitas perempuan dalam film, karakter perempuan, dan toxic relationship
