Abstract
Examples of clothing as non-verbal communication are quite a lot, and we can see it in everyday life. The effect that clothing has on people's social identity is quite large, the way we dress every day is an example of how the clothes we wear affect the way we express ourselves. In addition to the clothes we wear everyday, costumes also have the same effect regarding the identity of the characters being played. This study explains how a costume depicts a character or identity in a theater performance qualitatively with the aim of making art books for a theater performance in Jakarta, as a medium of education and reference for the theater community and clothing as well as the community
