Abstract

Fight is a consistent effort driven by a clear goal to achieve something that is difficult to obtain. Heroes of independence were not only men—women also played vital roles, even on the battlefield. This story, told from the perspective of a female hero, is delivered through Video Mapping in the form of animation that portrays their journey and struggle. The purpose of this Video Mapping design is to serve as a medium for learning about historical figures of Indonesian independence while also raising awareness about Women Empowerment. The writing uses a descriptive qualitative method, applying design thinking principles, graphic design, and illustration as theoretical foundations. Data collection is carried out through observation and literature study. The history of Indonesia’s independence era is vast, but selected historical narratives can be used as representations of current situations. This Video Mapping conveys the message that women’s roles, even in war, reflect women empowerment—proving that women are not always weak and are no less capable than men.
